Our Process

1. Inquire

Ready to make some magic together? Fill out our contact form that tells us about what you’re looking to create.

2. Proposal

We’ll get back to you within a few days with either a few follow-up questions or a budget proposal. Once you’ve received the budget proposal and approved it, I’ll send you a Commission Agreement contract for both of us to sign. From there, the timeline and deadline is all set and we’re officially in business!

3. Design Consultation

This is where some of the fun begins! We’ll spend time discussing your design vision and overall aesthetic for your particular project. Pinterest boards, Instagram posts - anything that’s stuck out to you is helpful to see as inspiration so I have a good idea as to what you’re looking for. We will ultimately align on a general direction of where we want to take the project. For invitations, this includes design, type of paper, printing techniques like letterpress or gold foil, envelope calligraphy, “add-ons” like wax seals and enclosure ribbons, etc. See below for all of our offerings.

4. Creation

This is when the artist gets to work! Madeline will design and paint for the first round of revisions.

5. Proofs & Revisions

Once the first round of custom design is complete, we will send you a digital proof (if this is a custom painting, it will be a photo of the painting). From there, you can provide feedback and Madeline can make any adjustments and updates. The number of rounds of revisions is dependent upon the agreed amount in the initial contract.

6. Printing Production

Once the final design is approved, off to the printers we go! I work closely with multiple printers and a variety of vendors to deliver you the highest quality product. If your project is a custom painting, we skip all the next steps and we simply mail or hand-deliver you your final painting!

7. Calligraphy & Assembly

Hand-drawn calligraphy and all of the “add-ons” will start to come together. You have the option to let us assemble your suite for you, so you can truly just sit back and relax (or…deal with all the other wedding planning you have on your plate!). Don’t worry, we will save a few extra non-assembled suites for you to keep and use for photographs and keepsakes.

8. Shipping

And off to the post office we go! You have the option to let us add postage to your assembled suites and send them directly to your guests, or we can send you all of the items to do yourself (with your fiancé and a glass of wine, of course).

We offer a wide range of add-ons to make your invitations stand out or to ease your stress of mailing. These include (but certainly are not limited to):

Envelope calligraphy
Envelope liners
Wax Seals
Letterpress printing
Gold foil
Enclosure (ribbon, string, vellum jacket or band, etc.)
Suite assembly and/or shipping
